Saudi Arabia discovers longest cave “Abu Al-Waul” : A thrilling new addition to the kingdom’s geological treasures has been unveiled in the volcanic Khaybar Mountains, northeast of Madina, lies the longest cave in Saudi Arabia, Abu Al-Waul Cave, which has just been formally documented by the Saudi Geological Survey (SGS). Adding to the expanding list of one-of-a-kind tourism spots in the country, the remarkable discovery is set to become a new geological landmark. Once the technical investigations are finished, it will be put forth as a potential tourism destination.

– A specialist geological team carefully documented this amazing longest basalt cave in the Kingdom, reaching an incredible five kilometers in length, according to Tariq Aba Al Khail, the official spokesman of the Saudi Geological Survey. The cave has been named “Abu Al Waul” because of the considerable amount of Ibex skeletons found there.

– In addition to its enormous size, Abu Al Waul is notable for its uniqueness, it contains the remains of multiple ibex, which provides an interesting historical context to the cave. The Saudi Geological Survey’s Department of Geotourism is leading the kingdom’s geopark programs, and this remarkable geological discovery is expected to be a major asset to those efforts.

– The geological tourism department at SGS is developing geopark projects, and this cave is a potential source of revenue for those projects, says Aba Al-Khail. – Approximately 21,500 square kilometers make up the Khaybar Free Zone, making it the biggest free zone in the Kingdom. With 23 major large free zones and varying numbers of smaller free zones, it is the Arab country with the most free zones.

– Jabal al-Baydaa, Jabal al-Abyad, and Jabal Al-Mansaf are three of the most unusual and uncommon volcanic rocks found on the Arabian Peninsula, and they are all part of Harrat Khaybar. Volcanic glass and light-gray acidic volcanic rocks make them up. Their light, white color is the result of an explosion that occurred thousands of years ago.
