The Food and Drug Authority in Saudi Arabia recommends 5 simple ways to reduce sugar in your diet and help you to choosing it carefully in order to prevent several health issues.
The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) through its official Twitter handle explained the tips to reduce sugar include the following.
1. Reduce the amount of sugar while preparing homemade sweets.
2. Reducing the amount of sugar in hot and cold drinks.
3. Stay away from soft drinks and energy drinks.
4. Make sure to choose fruit drinks under the name juice instead of nectar or syrup.

– Earlier, Saudi Food and Drug Authority announced that, it is prohibited to use of added sugar, colorings and flavors in fresh juices, juice mixes and drinks in the Kingdom.
– According to SFDA, the added sugar includes honey, glucose syrup and other forms of added sugar, which are banned from being used in fresh juices and drinks in juice shops, restaurants and cafes.
– The Live Healthy awareness platform of the Ministry of Health in Saudi Arabia advised the need to choose snacks correctly and calculated to avoid their undesirable health effects.
