Saudi Arabian transport officials have developed new regulations making it a crime and punishable by fines of up to 20,000 riyals for sticking out hands, legs, or both out of a train window or door. Trending : New guidelines for Hajj 2024 to prioritize Pilgrims Health and Safety

Saudi Arabia’s Transport General Authority has proposed a code of conduct that specifies the following.

* A fine of 300 riyals for the first offense, a fine of 600 riyals for the second offense, and a fine of 900 riyals for the third offense for anyone caught sticking out their legs, hands, or any other part of their body from the train’s windows or doors.

– If the offender commits the offense more than three times in a year, the proposed regulations reveal that they would be penalized 20,000 riyals and denied access to the rail service.

* Putting bags or other personal belongings on seats or blocking train corridors is also punishable by a 100 riyal fine according to the draft. The penalty increases to 200 riyals with a second offense and 400 riyals upon a third.

* Food is not allowed on trains. An offender faces a fine of 100 riyals the first time, 300 riyals the second, 400 riyals the third, and a one-month suspension from the service if they commit the same offense more than three times in a year.

* A fine of 200 riyals is imposed for smoking on trains or in locations that are not specifically designated at stations. After three violations per year, the smoker will no longer be allowed to use the rail service.

* There is a 200 Saudi Riyal fine for riding a bike or skateboard at a station or on a train, a 600 Saudi Riyal fine for sleeping in a prayer area, and an 800 Saudi Riyal fine for disturbing other passengers or rail employees.

– If the offender commits the offense more than three times in a year, they will be prohibited from utilizing the rail service.

– Earlier this, a Saudi government official announced that the high-speed Haramain train service had its highest-ever single-day passenger count of almost 41,000 on March 30.

– The Haramain train, which began service in 2018, links Jeddah, a port city in Saudi Arabia, with the two holiest cities in Islam, Makkah and Madina. Approximate yearly attendance for the 450-kilometer service is 60 million.
